A talented trombonist\, she has spent 14 years touring with Phish’s Trey Anastasio and performing in NYC with jazz greats like Wycliffe Gordon and Dave Douglas.\nWell-versed in Latin jazz\, post-bop\, pop\, and Brazilian music\, Cressman has released three albums under her name and three acclaimed duo albums with guitarist Ian Faquini\, her partner for a decade. Their original songs include 2019’s Setting Rays of Summer\, 2022’s Auburn Whisper\, and 2024’s GUINGA\, a tribute to Brazilian composer GUINGA.\nCressman has received recognition for her trombone skills\, earning “Rising Star Trombone” honors in 2019 and 2023 from Downbeat’s critics’ poll.\nHer love of groove led to solo albums like Unfolding (2012) and Turn the Sea (2014)\, and notably Etchings in Amber (2016)\, a duo album with guitarist Mike Bono showcasing her talent beyond the trombone. The Traces EP in 2017 expanded her reach into soundscaping with R&B and indie pop influences.\nCressman’s passion for groove music coexists with her love of jazz; in 2016\, SFJAZZ commissioned her to develop music honoring jazz trombonist Melba Liston. She collaborates with prominent figures like Carlos Santana and Phil Lesh.\nCressman’s talent opened doors to various projects\, including salsa and Latin jazz with artists like Edgardo Cambon and Pete Escovedo. After studying at the Manhattan School of Music and joining Trey Anastasio’s band\, Anastasio noted her rare musicality\, shaped by her family’s musical background. She now explores new musical paths with Faquini\, blending jazz and the Brazilian songbook.

SUMMARY:A Zachary Armstrong Curatorial Project
DESCRIPTION:Intricate. Intimate. From the heart. The Co presents the reveal of a new project by Zachary Armstrong—an enigmatic force whose work features the ritualistic repetition of symbols and motifs rooted in recollections of his childhood and family\, of people and places\, of rural Midwest Americana. While the details remain under wraps\, we promise a love letter to technical innovation\, imagination and memory as a means of connecting. Armstrong lives and works in Dayton\, Ohio. Recent solo exhibitions include GNYP Gallery\, Antwerp\, Belgium (2023); Tilton Gallery\, New York\, NY (2022\, 2018\, 2016); Faurschou Foundation\, New York\, NY/Beijing\, China (2022\, 2021); and The Contemporary\, Dayton\, OH (2021); among others.
