SUMMARY:Sinclair Theatre presents anthropology
DESCRIPTION:Sinclair Theatre is proud to present anthropology\, Lauren Gunderson’s contemporary thriller\, live on stage from October 10-18 in Sinclair’s Black Box Theatre\, Building 2\, on Sinclair’s downtown Dayton campus. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online at www.sinclair.edu/tickets. Groups of 20 or more ordering online save all ticketing fees. When Merril creates an AI version of her sister\, she finds herself questioning the difference between reality and fiction. As her creation begins to develop motives of its own\, Merril’s life is thrown into chaos as her family gets pulled into the power of a well-programmed machine. A story that intertwines the love of family with AI technology\, anthropology will take you on a journey that will have you questioning what is real and what is not. “While anthropology is a roller coaster of the contrasting tensions between technology and its creators\,” says Gunderson\, “this play is truly a very human story of family\, grief\, resilience\, love and sisterhood… all new technology – like all art – is first and foremost a method of expressing and coming to understand ourselves.” The cast consists of Tiffany Higgins\, Adalia Gaynier\, Rosi Green\, Kimberly Borst\, and Ryan Ford. Where: Sinclair Community College\, Black Box Theatre (Building 2)\, 444 W. Third St.\, Dayton Ticket Information: $15 plus $2 service fee. No at-the-door ticket sales. All tickets must be purchased online at: www.sinclair.edu/tickets

SUMMARY:Vitamin String Quartet: The Music Of Taylor Swift\, Bridgerton\, And Beyond

Fresh off high-profile placements in seasons 1 and 2 of the aforementioned streaming smash\, VSQ has “reached a mainstream\, global audience” (Variety) and “charmed the world with their classical covers” (Nylon). New York Observer wrote\, “VSQ’s atmospheric hits have made classical versions of pop music cool.” On their latest tour\, VSQ have created fresh arrangements of the cultural phenomenon that is Taylor Swift\, performing spellbinding and innovative renditions of Swift’s music\, alongside familiar hits from Billie Eilish\, BTS\, “Bridgerton\,” The Weeknd\, and Daft Punk. VSQ are one of the most popular string ensembles in the world with over 2 billion streams and seven albums charting on both Billboard Classical and Classical Crossover charts.

SUMMARY:Ding Chao and John Tronsor Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:The Sinclair Community College Art Department is pleased to present The Dialogue by Chao Ding in the Burnell R. Roberts Triangle Gallery and limen series by John Tronsor in the Works on Paper Gallery. The Dialogue is a visual diary of paintings exploring evocative moments and fragments of time in the artist’s life. Ding explores loneliness and mystery through textural layers and subtle colors\, focusing on revealing forgotten beauties and poetic significance through deserted spaces in the work. Tronsor’s limen series is a collection of photographs created during a period of self-quarantine focusing on his apartment windows\, which were sealed shut and covered with a white semi-opaque film. The resulting photos reflect landscapes paralleling tundras or oceans with their own depth and singularity. There will be a virtual artist talk via Zoom on Friday\, October 3\, 2025\, at 12pm. Visit www.sinclair.edu/artgalleries for details. The exhibitions will be on display from September 29–October 28\, 2025. Galleries are located on the fourth floor of building 13 (located at West Fifth and Perry Streets). The galleries are free and open to the public from 8am–6pm Monday–Friday and 9am–12pm Saturdays. Free and accessible parking is located in Parking Lot K.
