DESCRIPTION:March 15–June 8\, 2025 \nA distinguished figure in contemporary art\, Jamie Wyeth is recognized for his fiercely independent\, realistic approach to art. This exhibition follows Wyeth’s entire career and looks at a specifically darker thread within his oeuvre of troubling and unnerving imagery. Unsettled is divided into three distinct sections: “Strangers and Specters;” “Natural and Supernatural Worlds;” and “Haunted Places and Disturbing Spaces.” Drawn from museums and private collections from across the country\, the DAI is the exclusive Ohio venue and the final stop for this major traveling exhibition. Organized by the Brandywine Museum of Art.

DESCRIPTION:Inspired by mid-century artists such as Robert Motherwell\, Joan Mitchell\, and Franz Kline\, Susanne Scherette King’s strong colors\, movement and motion\, and wide range of style make up the title of her show: Sway – Opening Reception on Thursday\, April 3rd from 6pm-9pm – Artist Talk on Saturday\, April 12th from 2pm-4pm For Susanne\, sway is motion\, range\, and scope. Over the 25 years of painting\, her style continues to change and evolve. She has created a diverse range of work for this show. Susanne has a B.S. degree in education from Valparaiso University and a master’s degree in differentiated instruction from Graceland University. She is a self-taught artist. Professionally she taught jr. high language arts and also independently designed. perennial gardens for many years After two life changing medical events\, her teaching career ended\, but by making some modifications in technique she continued to paint. She has had gallery shows in Dayton\, Columbus\, Indianapolis\, and Philadelphia. Lite refreshments served. Free on-street parking. \n

From her early days as an NFL cheerleader to near-death experiences in the Congo and co-discovering the world’s smallest primate in Madagascar\, Mireya shares her incredible journey with us. Mireya hosts a wide variety of TV series\, including the Travel Channel’s hit series “Expedition Bigfoot.” Between field expeditions\, on-screen work\, and her real-life drama of juggling a family of eight\, Mireya reminds us that we are capable of more than we can imagine. \nDr. Mireya Mayor is a primatologist\, explorer\, National Science Foundation fellow\, Fulbright scholar\, and Emmy Award–nominated wildlife correspondent for the National Geographic Channel. Her explorations have led to several scientific discoveries\, most notably her co-discovery in Madagascar of the world’s smallest primate. Mireya has hosted dozens of documentaries\, including her Nat Geo WILD series\, “Wild Nights With Mireya Mayor;” “Expedition Africa” on the History Channel; “La Cuba De Hoy” on Nat Geo Mundo; and the Travel Channel’s hit series “Expedition Bigfoot.” Her book\, Pink Boots And A Machete\, was published in 2011. SUMMARY:2025 Fine Art Student Juried Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:The Sinclair Community College Art Department is pleased to present the 2025 Fine Art Student Juried Exhibition. Students who have been enrolled in fine art classes at Sinclair Community College within the past year are eligible to enter the annual Fine Art Student Juried Exhibition by submitting up to five original works produced for their art classes. This year’s juror\, Samuel Dunson\, will review the submissions\, select works for the exhibition\, and award best in show\, second\, and third place. Dunson\, a native of Dayton\, Ohio\, is a professor at Tennessee State University\, where he is in his twenty-fifth year of teaching art and design. Students juried into the exhibition may list their artwork for sale either to the public and/or to be sold to Sinclair Community College as Student Purchase Awards. The Purchase Award winners are committee selected and will be added to Sinclair’s art collection. Over 130 Student Purchase Awards are located throughout Sinclair’s Dayton and Centerville campuses. This program is made possible thanks to the generosity of Burnell R. Roberts and the Mauch Endowment Fund. The exhibition will be held in-person in the Burnell R. Roberts Triangle Gallery and the Works on Paper Gallery. Interested parties may view the show in person or online on the student website\, sinclaircollegeartgalleries.org. In addition\, the exhibition will be highlighted on the galleries’ Facebook and Instagram @sinclaircollegeartgalleries.
