The cost to participate is $12 per person per hour. Taiter’s Kayak Solutions staff will provide visitors with brief instructions prior to entering the water\, which will include a safety tutorial\, and help visitors get into their vessels. All visitors will be required to wear a properly fitted life jacket. Swimming is prohibited in the Great Miami River\, but visitors should come prepared to get wet. Those renting will not be permitted to go through the RiverScape River Run whitewater feature. No lifeguards are on duty\, and paddling is at all visitors’ own risk. SUMMARY:Playwright’s Night – Anschel
DESCRIPTION:ANSCHEL is the true story of a survivor. An 11 year old boy when German Soldiers over-ran Poland in 1939\, Anschel was a Polish Jew who was clever beyond his years. Time after time\, year after year\, when captured by Nazi Soldiers and armed SS guards\, he escaped and escaped\, and escaped. At the end of the war\, he was a teenager and the only one of his family to survive the holocaust. This is his story. \nANSCHEL is an adaptation of the holocaust memoire\, Anschel’s Story by Renate Frydman. This new play is the result of a special commission by the Jewish Federation of Greater Dayton and was funded by a grant from the Leon Norman and Mildred Miriam Nizny Memorial Fund and the Eleanor and John Kautz Fund of The Dayton Foundation.

DESCRIPTION:Part of RiverScape Kayak Rentals series \nKayak Rentals at RiverScape with Taiter’s Kayak Solutions\n2:00pm – 6:00pm \nAGE: 14 and up | $12.00\nPaddle under the fountains with Taiter’s Kayak Solutions all summer long at RiverScape MetroPark! Regular walk-up rental hours will take place Tuesdays from 2-6pm and Thursdays from 4-8pm\, June-October. Launch from under the Riverside Bridge along the Great Miami Recreational Trail. The cost to participate is $12 per person per hour. Taiter’s Kayak Solutions staff will provide visitors with brief instructions prior to entering the water\, which will include a safety tutorial\, and help visitors get into their vessels. All visitors will be required to wear a properly fitted life jacket. Swimming is prohibited in the Great Miami River\, but visitors should come prepared to get wet. Those renting will not be permitted to go through the RiverScape River Run whitewater feature. No lifeguards are on duty\, and paddling is at all visitors’ own risk. DESCRIPTION:Free and open to the public! \nFew people have impacted the arts in Southwest Ohio quite like Willis “Bing” Davis. An African American artist\, educator and community activist from Dayton\, Davis’ artwork is known for its incorporation of African and African American themes\, as well as its focus on social justice issues. He works in a variety of media\, including painting\, sculpture\, ceramics\, clay and found object art. His art often explores the intersection of race\, identity\, and history\, as well as the power of community and collective action. \nAmong his works\, many have been featured in public and private collections alike from the United States\, Europe and China to Ghana\, Senegal and Nigeria with exhibits featured in the Museum of Harlem\, the African Craft Museum\, the Renwick Gallery\, the Dayton Art Institute\, and many more. He has received numerous honors and awards throughout his career\, including the Ohio Governor’s Award for the Arts\, the Citizen Legion of Honor Award from the Presidents Club of Dayton\, and the Ohio Art Educator of the Year Award. \nIn addition to his artistic pursuits\, Davis is a dedicated community activist and educator. He founded the EbonNia Gallery in Dayton\, Ohio\, which showcases the work of many types of artists and serves as a community gathering place.
