When not tending to their gardens\, taking film photos with vintage cameras\, or drinking homemade wine by the fire\, they tour nationally and perform at major music festivals. The solitude of their cabin has deeply influenced lead singer and songwriter Carly Kraft\, providing a healing space to slow down and reclaim her music. \nProjects Unlimited Gem Series Opener: Pitts and the Vipers\, based in Columbus\, Ohio\, is a band formed by Ryan Pitts\, Nick Frye\, David Miklos\, and Kevin Sanders\, who originally played together as Bonneville during junior high. After a 13-year hiatus\, Ryan Pitts reignited his passion for music during the pandemic\, leading to the band’s reunion under a new name. Their self-titled album was released at the start of 2025. The band members\, who share a deep connection and long-term musical bonds\, are now more intentional in their songwriting process\, focusing on crafting and refining their music. Their shared history and recent experiences bring a unique energy to their performances\, reflecting their growth and dedication to their craft.

DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, July 3\, 2025 will be the City of Dayton’s Lights in Flight Fireworks Display at Kettering Field (444 N. Bend Blvd). The fireworks display is planned for 10 PM and admission is free. \nThe official viewing area is Kettering Field. Due to the location of the fireworks\, people will likely not be able to view them from RiverScape MetroPark or some areas downtown. \nKey things to know: \n\nIsland MetroPark will be open on July 3 from 10 AM – 3 PM. The water play area\, shelters\, and other amenities will all be open as usual until 3 PM\, when the park will close in preparation for the fireworks display. Please note: the playground is closed for renovations. No access will be allowed from 3 PM onward\, including from the bike trails or from Triangle Park.\nAt 5 PM\, the following streets will become pedestrian only – no vehicle access:\n\nRiverside Drive\, northbound only\, from White Allen Drive to Helena Street.\nHelena Street\, from Riverside Drive to Keowee Street.\n\n\nAt 5 PM\, the following streets will be closed to all traffic – pedestrians and vehicles:\n\nNorth Bend Blvd.\, from Helena to Webster.\nThe pedestrian bridge from Water Street to Deeds Point MetroPark; all of Deeds Point MetroPark will be closed.\n\n\nGreat Miami River to close from the downstream edge of Helena Bridge to the upstream edge of the Interstate 75 bridge starting at approximately 5 PM and will not reopen until fireworks are complete.\nApprox. 2 AM\, July 4: All closures will be opened after cleanup.\nThe rain date for the fireworks is Friday\, July 4 at 10 PM

DESCRIPTION:The Sinclair Community College Art Department is pleased to present work by Heidi Brueckner and Jennifer Scheuer in the Burnell R. Roberts Triangle Gallery and Works on Paper Gallery. Inspired by observing others as a way to understand ourselves\, Brueckner creates intricate portraits filled with color\, pattern\, texture\, and a variety of recycled materials. These works produce narratives which explore personage through self-presentation\, facial expressions\, and gesture. They inspect the under-revered and appreciate the subject’s presence and dignity\, not only honoring the individual\, but the earth and humanity as a whole. Scheuer addresses ideas of healing\, the body\, plants\, and the history of medicine through printmaking. Much of her work responds to the historical idea of the Doctrine of Signatures\, which suggests visual or sensory properties of plants correlate to healing properties. Additionally\, she explores sequential imagery\, narrative complexity\, and play through artist books with their interactive\, sculptural\, and time-based qualities. DESCRIPTION:THE NEON – Dayton’s independent\, arthouse cinema – will soon be hosting “Friday Night Patio Parties” on their recently renovated patio. Beginning June 13 and running through August 15\, each week’s party\, hosted by “Celebrity Guest Hosts\,” goes from 5:30 -7:30 p.m. and features music\, à la carte drinks from THE NEON’s patio bar and food from a local food truck. These weekly patio parties are made possible by the generous sponsorship of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Professional Realty. \nGuest hosts for these parties include team members from Berkshire Hathaway\, representatives from Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce and Generation Dayton\, The RubiGirls\, Discover Classical – Dayton Public Radio\, Amelia Robinson & Anthony Shoemaker\, representatives from various local theatre groups\, and former Dayton Mayor Rhine McLin.  DJs spinning music throughout the summer will include DJ Luke Tandy\, man dies.\, J[REDACTED]\, and Mike7.  And lastly\, food will be available each week via local food trucks including Bourbon On The Street\, Freakin’ Rican\, Bald Head Tone’s\, Showdog Hotdogs\, and De’Lish.  THE NEON’s social media pages and weekly newsletter are the best places to find up-to-date details about each week’s party. \nIn May\, THE NEON announced the name of their expanded patio – “The Eichelberger Foundation Patio.” This expansion received a lead grant of $75\,000 from Jack W. and Sally D. Eichelberger Foundation of the Dayton Foundation.  \nImprovements included: \n\nThe expansion of the ground level patio and the building of an upper-level terrace\nAn awning to provide shade (Tensile Structure Systems\, Inc – Baltimore\, Maryland)\nA new sound system\, security cameras and improved lighting\nNew patio furniture\n\nThese improvements will enhance the outdoor experience for THE NEON’s patio guests and have already created an attractive addition to a busy downtown intersection. \nJonathan McNeal\, THE NEON’s General Manager\, expressed his thanks for the grant.  “Because of the generosity of Jack W. and Sally D. Eichelberger Foundation of The Dayton Foundation\, THE NEON patio experience will only get better and allow us to expand our programming.”  Besides the Friday parties in the summer\, the patio hosts numerous events tied to special screenings and a welcoming place to enjoy a drink and popcorn before or after seeing a film. \nThis is the second grant made by the Foundation to THE NEON.
