DESCRIPTION:Fasting for Food and Peace is a 24-hour community event led by Ambassador Tony Hall to raise awareness about hunger\, justice\, and global conflict. The event begins on April 4th with a discussion on critical issues\, including blood diamonds\, Ukraine\, and Hall’s personal 22-day fast. The evening will feature a performance by the World House Choir and the announcement of the Miami Valley Peace Maker Prize. The fast will conclude on April 5th with a communal meal\, reflections on peace\, and performances by the University of Dayton Jazz Ensemble and Olohana’s Polynesian Dance Troupe. This exhibition follows Wyeth’s entire career and looks at a specifically darker thread within his oeuvre of troubling and unnerving imagery. Unsettled is divided into three distinct sections: “Strangers and Specters;” “Natural and Supernatural Worlds;” and “Haunted Places and Disturbing Spaces.” Drawn from museums and private collections from across the country\, the DAI is the exclusive Ohio venue and the final stop for this major traveling exhibition.
