This exhibition follows Wyeth’s entire career and looks at a specifically darker thread within his oeuvre of troubling and unnerving imagery. Unsettled is divided into three distinct sections: “Strangers and Specters;” “Natural and Supernatural Worlds;” and “Haunted Places and Disturbing Spaces.” Drawn from museums and private collections from across the country\, the DAI is the exclusive Ohio venue and the final stop for this major traveling exhibition. Over the 25 years of painting\, her style continues to change and evolve. She has created a diverse range of work for this show. Susanne has a B.S. degree in education from Valparaiso University and a master’s degree in differentiated instruction from Graceland University. She is a self-taught artist. Professionally she taught jr. high language arts and also independently designed. perennial gardens for many years After two life changing medical events\, her teaching career ended\, but by making some modifications in technique she continued to paint. SUMMARY:2025 Sinclair Community College Graduating Fine Art Students’ Portfolio Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:From April 19 through May 8 the Burnell R. Roberts Triangle Gallery and other galleries in Building 13 will exhibit artwork by students graduating from Sinclair with an Associate of Arts\, Art degree. The graduates are in charge of both selecting works from their portfolios to exhibit as well as installing the show. Exhibiting artists include Amanda Agee\, Jesper Beckholt\, Joe Blackwell\, Grace Bucy\, Sarah Butler\, Autumn Copeland\, Dalton Craport\, Jordan Cullen\, Estevan Dougherty\, Lucas Dunlap\, Abigail Flanagan\, Ashton Houghton\, Gabby Lindsey\, Olivia Martinez\, Macy McDowell\, Diane Nguyen\, Ethan Rebholz\, Charles Edward Rice III\, Alexander Rothery\, and Bryan Woodroof. There will be an open house reception on May 1 from 4:30pm-6pm in the 4th Floor Atrium of Building 13. The galleries are located at the corner of West Fifth and Perry Street in Building 13 on the 4th Floor. The galleries are free and open to the public from 8am–6pm Monday–Friday and 9am–12pm Saturdays.

SUMMARY:Exhibit: SELFie: The Power Within
DESCRIPTION:The museum’s pop-up exhibit\, SELFie: The Power Within\, will be in the Main Library’s Opportunity Space @ St. Clair in May. Patrons can let their selfies tell stories of strength\, growth\, and self-love. The photos that are taken will celebrate the real\, unfiltered moments of mental health\, with hopes of breaking the stigma surrounding it\, thus allowing patrons to explore the power of being their authentic selves. \nA reception opening the exhibit will be held on Thursday\, May 1\, from 6:30-8 pm\, in the Main Library’s Atrium. Local advocates and mental health professionals will be present. All ages are welcome to attend the exhibit throughout the month\, including the reception.

DESCRIPTION:What is Out on 5th? \nOut on 5th is the street closure of Fifth Street in the Oregon District of downtown Dayton on weekends. \nClosing down Fifth Street from Patterson Boulevard to Wayne Avenue every Friday night through Sunday evening allows\nour business district to open up the street for guests to shop – dine – and relax in the open air. \n\n\nOut on 5th gives restaurants and bars in the district room to expand patio seating into the streets. \n\n\nFifth Street is filled with public seating to allow guests room to spread out and enjoy the outdoors. \n\n\nRetail shops can use extra sidewalk space in front of their business for sales. Travel with song and dance through a lesson in geography that incorporates an introduction to a variety of musical instruments as well as Latin language\, culture\, and music. This student performance introduces musical styles and instruments along with geography\, social studies\, and Spanish language curriculum connections. \nAndrés and Christina are the Grammy and Latin Grammy award winning music duo 123 Andrés.

DESCRIPTION:Montgomery County Law Enforcement Memorial\n10:45am – 12:45pm \nAGE: All ages | FREE\nThe Montgomery County Law Enforcement Memorial is an annual event to honor officers who were tragically killed or seriously injured in the line of duty\, and provide support for their family and coworkers. The event starts with a procession which features a combined agency Motorcycle Unit\, a combined agency Color Guard\, Honor Guards\, a massed Pipe & Drum Corps\, uniformed and retired Officers\, and the family and coworker survivors. Once it reaches the pavilion\, the memorial continues with many observances of sacred military and law enforcement traditions\, guest speakers\, and more. The public is welcome to attend as we honor the fallen and injured officers of our community. The procession is weather dependent. Weather Dependent.
