SUMMARY:The Miami University Choraliers and SINGergy
DESCRIPTION:The Miami University Choraliers and SINGergy\, Robyn Lana and Alyson Bates\, conductors\, will take place on Sunday\, March 8 at 4 p.m. The Miami University Choraliers is a non-auditioned treble choir dating back to 1908 and is widely recognized as one of Miami’s premier vocal ensembles. SINGergy is an advanced treble choir based in southwest and central Ohio. Members are vocalists from the region and beyond. SINGergy performs 2-3 concert sets each season and collaborates with high school and collegiate treble choirs.

DESCRIPTION:An organ concert by Dr. Roy Belfield\, Jr. is slated for Sunday\, February 22\, 2026 at 4 p.m at the church. Dr. Belfield holds degrees in music from Morehouse College\, Florida State University\, and a Doctor of Musical Arts in organ performance from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory. Currently\, Dr. Belfield is the Director of Choirs and Orchestra at Goucher College in Maryland and serves as accompanist for several choirs.

SUMMARY:Aurelian Oprea
DESCRIPTION:Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra violinist Aurelian Oprea will be the musical guest on Wednesday\, December 24\, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. Aurelian was born in Cluj-Napoca\, the cultural capital of Romania’s Transylvania region. His parents and grandfather were string players in the Romanian National Opera House Orchestra\, and his grandmother was the prima ballerina of the Opera’s ballet corps. Aurelian earned a bachelor’s degree in music performance from Bowling Green State University. He won his first professional audition at the age of 20\, becoming the youngest member of the Michigan Opera Theater Orchestra in Detroit\, a position he held until 2000 when he joined the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra. Aurelian is fluent in Romanian\, Hungarian and English. He resides in Historic Grafton Hill with his wife and daughter.

DESCRIPTION:The historic First Baptist Church of Dayton located at 111 West Monument Avenue will present First Baptist Sings\, Sunday\, November 23\, 2025 at 4 p.m.   The concert which is free and open to the public will feature the Chancel Choir under the direction of Dr. William Henry Caldwell accompanied by Alan Kimbrough and Gregory Land. The program will feature sacred works of all periods and styles along with Five Mystical Songs by Ralph Vaughn Williams\, featuring baritone Guy Chambers\, a member of the Wright State University faculty.  The church is handicapped accessible and parking is available in the parking lot next to the church. A reception\, open to all\, will follow the performance immediately in the church’s Fellowship Hall.

The program will also feature contemporary works by Undine Smith Moore\, a hymn arranged by Dr. James Arthur Williams\, and a song by physicist  Dr. Willette Greene Johnson\, Without You.  The Chancel Choir will be accompanied by organists Dr. R. Alan Kimbrough and Mr. Gregory Land. First Baptist Church of Dayton is celebrating 200 years of service in the Miami Valley area. The event is free and open to the public.
