DESCRIPTION:Join us for our 7th annual Derby Day and Running of the Weiners! Sponsored by Love Tito’s! Proceeds benefit The Humane Society and Miami Valley Pit Crew. 12-1:45 Weiner Race Registration (Tito’s tent next to Toxic Brew) $25 registration fee. 2pm Weiner Dog Races on our specially made tracks right down 5th street! 3pm Costume contest for our four legged friends! 4pm Derby Fashion Show by Clash Dayton\, Greta Grenadine and various other local designers. 5pm Hot Dog eating contest by Blind Dogs. Vendors will be setup throughout the district from 12-6pm\, check them out as you hit our brick and mortars! Our district’s establishments will have specialty drinks featuring Tito’s Handmade Vodka! For every specialty drink purchase from participating bars\, $1 per drink will be donated to this year’s featured charities! Make sure to ask for a DORA cup so you walk around the district and sip on a special beverage! DESCRIPTION:The Oregon Historic District Society (OHDS) is excited to invite the community to the neighborhood in the heart of downtown Dayton for a tour inside of some of their beautiful\, historic homes at the annual Grand Holiday Tour of Homes. The event will take place on Saturday\, December 7\, and Sunday\, December 8. Tickets are on sale now\, and can be purchased here or at oregondistrict.org/events. \nAt the tour\, guests will enjoy a guided tour through five beautifully decorated historic homes to kick-off the holiday season in classic\, Victorian style. The OHDS is proud to partner with Glasshouse Realty as the presenting sponsor of the 2024 event. \nTour participants will start at the Glasshouse Realty offices to check-in and receive a tour book\, detailing the history and architectural features of each home. Guests will then be able to explore the participating homes with their tour groups\, enjoying the historic architecture and holiday decor at each stop. After your tour is complete\, guests are invited to stop back at The Armory to enjoy themed refreshments and holiday cheer served by neighborhood volunteers. \nThe tour is the primary fundraiser for the OHDS. The OHDS is a 501c3 nonprofit run by the neighborhood to cover community expenses such as the costs of upkeep in Newcom Park\, Oregon District residential street lighting and the street lighting maintenance. These are all expenses paid by the residents of the neighborhood\, but add a welcoming and safe atmosphere for all guests to visit the Oregon District.
