SUMMARY:Community Fitness: Tai Chi & Qigong at the River
DESCRIPTION:Offered by Immortal Tree Qigong. Each hour-long Tai Chi & Qigong session will start with breathing exercises\, warm up\, and gentle movements. You will then be guided through flowing movements that are part of the Tai Chi 24 form mixed with short standing meditations. We will end with a slightly longer guided standing (or sitting) meditation. This should leave a few minutes to answer questions or discuss any insights. Qigong and Tai Chi don’t require any special skills (other than breathing) or equipment (other than your body).

Before you head to RiverScape MetroPark to hit the ice\, make sure you know before you go: Skates may be borrowed\, but are available in limited quantity and sizes and given out on a first-come\, first-served basis. Some guests may have to wait before skates become available. Upon arrival\, please review the MetroParks Ice Rink’s rules – this is how we keep people safe on the ice! The RiverScape Cafe will be open and cozy drinks and snacks will be available for purchase. This event is weather dependent and may be cancelled due to unseasonably warm or inclement weather. This event coincides with our Community Open Skate\, which includes FREE Admission and Skate Rental. Weather Dependent. \nGuests are encouraged to participate in family activities including a featured theme table\, coloring pages\, scavenger hunt\, and Penguin Toss. The Penguin Toss is free to all skaters and takes place at approximately 3pm. Participants will receive a penguin to toss onto the ice\, and whoever lands their penguin closest to the target will receive one of three prizes. \nSkaters are welcome to relax in one of several warming areas\, including a heated comfort tent containing games and seating. The RiverScape Cafe will also be open\, offering a variety of food and drinks (including our delicious hot cocoa!) for purchase.
