SUMMARY:Rike’s Holiday Windows
DESCRIPTION:The holiday season is here and one of Dayton’s most beloved traditions is visiting the Rike’s Holiday Windows! \nThe RIKE’S HOLIDAY WINDOWS’ animated elves and animals first appeared in NCR’s New York office windows in 1943\, but many Daytonians remember them from their annual holiday pilgrimage to the Rike’s Department Store which sat on the corner of Second and Main Streets (where the Benjamin & Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center now sits). They’ve been on display in the Schuster Center’s Wintergarden during the holidays for more than 20 years. \nIn 2018\, the displays were redesigned by critically acclaimed theatre and opera scenic designer and Dayton native Adam Koch\, reconstructed by internationally acclaimed set and stage designers Scenic Solutions from West Carrollton\, Ohio\, and the characters were recostumed by the Dayton Sewing Collaborative. \nSANTA’S SECRET\nSanta and his magical team of crafty reindeer make a special stop each year to the Schuster Center to hide a special something in each of the Rike’s Holiday Windows. Can you guess what it is this year? It’s tiny\, often at a child’s eye level\, and has something to do with Dayton! \nIf you’re right\, you’ll be entered to win a special gift certificate from Dayton Live. The winning entry will be notified after the new year begins! \nYou’ll be able to submit your entry when the RIKE’S HOLIDAY WINDOWS open for the season! \n  \nWindows are generally available for viewing Monday-Friday 6 a.m.-6:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 8 a.m.-5 p.m. The windows will be closed Thanksgiving Day\, Christmas Eve\, Christmas Day\, New Year’s Eve\, and New Year’s Day\, and will not be available for public viewing during private events. \nPresented by Dayton Live

SUMMARY:A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical
DESCRIPTION:Created in collaboration with Neil Diamond himself\, A BEAUTIFUL NOISE is the uplifting true story of how a kid from Brooklyn became a chart-busting\, show-stopping American rock icon. With 120 million albums sold\, a catalogue of classics like “America\,” “Forever in Blue Jeans\,” and “Sweet Caroline\,” an induction into the Songwriters and Rock and Roll Halls of Fame\, a Grammy® Lifetime Achievement Award\, and sold-out concerts around the world that made him bigger than Elvis\, Neil Diamond’s story was made to shine on Broadway – and head out on the road across America. \nLike Jersey Boys and Beautiful: The Carole King Musical before it\, A BEAUTIFUL NOISE: THE NEIL DIAMOND MUSICAL is an inspiring\, exhilarating\, energy-filled musical memoir\, that tells the untold true story of how America’s greatest hitmaker became a star\, set to the songs that defined his career.

SUMMARY:The Piano Guys
DESCRIPTION:Since their serendipitous inception in a Southern Utah piano shop\, THE PIANO GUYS have established themselves as an unstoppable musical force. At their core are Jon Schmidt (pianist\, songwriter) and Steven Sharp Nelson (cellist\, songwriter)\, whose dynamic performances and creative synergy have captivated audiences worldwide. \nIn 2023\, THE PIANO GUYS unveiled their 13th album\, Unstoppable\, a compilation of exhilarating and emotionally profound cover songs written over the past two years. Since their official debut in 2011\, THE PIANO GUYS have released 13 albums\, including six No.1 debuts on Billboard’s Top Classical Albums chart. \nTheir music has amassed over 2 billion global streams\, while their YouTube videos have been viewed 2.4 billion times. Their Spotify presence alone boasts nearly 2 million monthly listeners. Jon and Steven have sold out concert venues across the globe\, from Royal Albert Hall in London to iconic Sydney Opera House to Carnegie Hall and stunning Red Rocks! THE PIANO GUYS’ unique brand has earned recognition from publications like The New York Times\, Fast Company\, BuzzFeed\, and Mashable\, with appearances on “CBS Sunday Morning\,” “TODAY Show\,” “Good Morning America\,” and “The Tonight Show.” \nInitially\, the group started with Paul Anderson\, a renowned piano store owner turned producer and videographer\, Jon Schmidt\, pianist\, Steven Sharp Nelson\, cellist\, and Al van der Beek\, a music producer; they established THE PIANO GUYS as a YouTube channel showcasing piano and cello performances in nature. Collectively\, they took YouTube by storm\, accumulating over 2 billion views for their classical crossover music videos\, which were filmed amidst scenic natural landscapes and several of the Seven Wonders of the World. \n“Who would have ever thought that middle-aged dads from Utah filming classically influenced music in nature could ever succeed at the outset?” asks Steven Sharp Nelson. “Our favorite thing is to find a way to be on the fringes of possibility. We like to combine things you would never expect to find together – but are close enough to make sense. It has been our mindset from the beginning.”
