Two properties near the southern border of the new Levitt Pavilion recently sold to a developer planning to invest millions into the block at 18 W. Fifth St. Columbus-based Triad Architects look to flip the first block of West Fifth Street’s spaces into new uses, like retail, restaurants, offices and housing. Currently the home of the Dayton Chess Club, 18 W. Fifth St. was constructed in the 1920s and formerly known as the Reed Furniture Co. and Steffen Bros. building.
