Since its rehab completed in 2001, the St. Clair Lofts recently announced it has leased its last available first-floor space. The five-story building has 108 apartments in the upper floors, and the first floor is home to a wide array of businesses, including several Activated Spaces Pop-Up Shop “graduates” who signed on as long-term tenants after their short-term “pop-up phase” completed. Current tenants include Twist Cupcakery, Linwood Men’s Specialty Shoppe, Baker Salvage Co., Puff Apothecary, Salon J Ladner, Soccer Shots, Gem City Key Shop, and Anthony James Painting and Contracting. Last year, St. Clair Lofts management participated in the First Floor Activation Program, powered by a grant from DP&L. This collaboration between Sinclair College’s building services division, The Architectural Group, engineering firm Helmig Lienesch LLC, and the Downtown Dayton Partnership built out the Lofts’ remaining first-floor spaces. Once prepped to “white box” status, the building soon signed on new tenants – White Anvil Tattoo, and Grace Lane Boutique, which is set to open later this month.
