The Dayton Woman’s Club, located at 225 N. Ludlow St. in downtown Dayton, is holding a community event on Wednesday, Aug. 25, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to celebrate opening its doors to the public after being shuttered during the pandemic. The club, which took the closure time in 2020 to focus on renovations and new business models, including partnering with a new caterer – Rich Taste Catering – for Wednesday public lunches, will hold a ceremony that will include hors d’oeuvres, tours, and information about the event rentals and special interest groups at the club. The organization was founded in 1916 as a place to provide women in the Dayton area a center for social, civic and literary activities. The building was constructed in the late 1840s as the private home of Robert W. Steele, for whom Dayton’s first high school was named. Find more information here.
