Fast Facts: Latest Simms Condo Development Sells Last Unit

Mike ColvinDowntown Living News, Fast Facts

Simms Development recently announced it sold the last of 14 new townhomes at its latest site, City View. The units were claimed in a record-breaking 13 months. There are still several units available at the most recent Simms project, Monument Walk. More options can be found on the Downtown Dayton Partnership’s condo and apartment directory online.

Demand for downtown housing has never been stronger, and a recent study conducted by the Downtown Dayton Partnership indicates there’s still room to grow. The housing demand study published in March 2017 examined Dayton and several other comparable cities, and compared that information with national trends in housing. Despite the surge of new housing projects, the study determined the downtown market is under-built by 954 owner-occupied units and 1,382 apartments.

The public is invited to explore a few samples of downtown dwellings during the free Downtown Housing Tour, coming up Saturday, May 5. The event is the first in the DP&L Summer in the City signature series. More information about the housing tour and other Summer in the City festivities will be released later this month.
