Free Weekend Rides Available from Greater Dayton RTA this Summer

Weekend bus fares will be eliminated this summer for all Greater Dayton RTA riders. Starting June 4 and continuing until September 4, the RTA will no longer charge riders on Saturdays and Sundays. The policy change applies to fixed-route buses and paratransit vehicles. Leaders with the Greater Dayton RTA say the move is meant to bring more people to summer events while encouraging them to save money by using public transportation. “There’s a lot happening on weekends these days, both in terms of work and leisure,” RTA CEO Bob Ruzinsky said in a statement. “We felt free rides on the weekends for the summer would be a great way to get folks familiar with using RTA and provide them with a reliable transportation option for all their weekend needs.” You can plan your summer full of downtown events with the AES Ohio Summer in the City calendar.
