The developer behind the Fire Blocks District, Windsor Companies, is setting its sights on Webster Street. According to the Dayton Daily News, Windsor Companies recently submitted documents to the city of Dayton to tear down the former Midwest Tool & Engineering co. on the 100 block of Webster Street. The developer would plan to build a four-story apartment building with more than 100 residential units on the upper floors and retail space on the first floor. This is one of several projects Windsor has proposed and started downtown. The company has transformed the 100 block of East Third Street into the Fire Blocks District and is also renovating two buildings at South Jefferson and East Fourth Streets.
