With Black History Month fast approaching in February, Dayton Metro Library has an exhibit beginning this month.
Freed Will Exhibit by the National Afro-American Museum and Cultural Center is a traveling exhibit that will be on display in the Main Library’s Opportunity Space @ St. Clair from Tuesday, January 16 to Friday, March 1. The exhibit demonstrates one of the largest emancipations in American history when nearly 400 formerly enslaved people journeyed from Charlotte County, Virginia to Ohio’s Miami Valley.
Explore their history from freedom, their grueling pilgrimage, legal battles, and community building into the present day in this exhibit that is free and open to the public.
For more information about the Freed Will Exhibit, call the Library’s Ask Me Line at 937.463.2665.
