Since 1951, Henrietta’s HeLa cells, taken without her or her family’s knowledge or consent, would become responsible for some of the greatest scientific advancements of the century and continue to benefit all of humanity.
Join the family of Henrietta Lacks for a discussion on her life, legacy and its significance for health equity and social justice; and how the HeLa cells changed the world.
Featuring Guest Speakers and Sr. Advisors to the Lacks family-led HELA100: Henrietta Lacks Initiative: Veronica Robinson, Lacks Family Descendant; and Victoria Baptiste, BSN, RN, Great-Granddaughter to Henrietta Lacks
The book Shadows of Immortality by Alfred (Lacks) Carter, Jr. will be available for purchase at the event.
