Dayton Holiday Festival Continues through December

Mike ColvinFast Facts

The Dayton Holiday Festival tree is lit, but holiday fun continues downtown all December long! Family Fun Days offer free, family-friendly entertainment and fun on December 6, 13, and 20. Start your Saturday at 11 a.m. at the NEON for a free holiday flick for kids; adult tickets are just $2 each! After the movie, make your way to the Winter Wonderland at Rabbit Hole Books from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. for a kid-sized store, tasty holiday treats, and pictures with Santa! Holiday revelers won’t want to miss Virginia Kettering’s one-of-a-kind holiday train display on view now through January 1 at Stratacache Tower, or the reimagining of Rike’s holiday windows on display inside of the Schuster Center Wintergarden through January 4.

Be sure to take in the gorgeous decorations of Downtown Dayton storefronts! Vote for your favorite December 5-29 in the annual Whimsical Windows contest hosted on DaytonDailyNews.com. The business behind the window with the most votes at noon on Monday, December 29, will win a $500 cash prize! Keep an eye out for elves hiding in the window as part of the annual Elf Hunt. Snap a photo of each elf you find and text it to 937-304-4041 for a chance to win $100 in Downtown Dollars.

New this year, shop local to win! The Holiday Hop is on now through December 22 across Downtown Dayton! Shoppers are invited to pick up a stamp card from one of the participating locations. After collecting three stamps, one in each category of Play, Shop, and Dine, shoppers can turn their card in at one of six drop-off locations to score $25 in Downtown Dollars while supplies last.
