A staple of downtown dining is celebrating a major milestone this week. February 26 marks the 50th anniversary for Jay’s Seafood in the Oregon District. The restaurant was opened by Jay Haverstick in 1976. Amy Haverstick, Jay’s daughter, continues to run the downtown favorite today at 225 East Sixth Street. Diners are invited to celebrate at the restaurant on February 26 with a free 50th anniversary wine glass. A limited number of seats are still available for Jay’s 50th Anniversary Wine Luncheon taking place at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 28.
