Downtown’s newest retailer is now open. Base Camp Outdoors Co. held a ribbon-cutting ceremony and officially opened its doors late last month at 420 E. First St. in the Water Street District. The locally-owned outdoor supply business offers apparel, accessories, and equipment for outdoor activities including camping, hiking, and more. Owners Brycen & Claire Cross say they also hope to host educational and community events at their location in the coming months. Local artists helped to supply all of the murals and art inside Base Camp’s first brick-and-mortar location. Base Camp Outdoors Co. fall hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.
