Chaminade Julienne Expands Downtown Footprint

Mike Colvin Fast Facts

Downtown’s Chaminade Julienne High School is continuing its growth. A recent purchase of the former Terminal Cold Storage and Dayton Frozen Solutions building at 20-60 Eaker Street will expand the campus footprint to more than 20 acres. In a statement, CJ President Dan Meixner thanked the generosity of the community and said the $675,000 purchase will help to connect the school with more crucial educational resources.

“The acquisition of 20-60 Eaker Street opens new avenues for the realization of our strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing the educational experience we offer” Meixner said in a release. “We are excited to engage with our stakeholders to craft a visionary plan that aligns with the educational corridor of the city, connecting us with institutions like Sinclair College and the University of Dayton.”

The school is now working to secure funding for the demolition of its newest acquisition as renovation of the building is not possible in its current condition.
