Dayton Holiday Festival Celebrates 50 Years of Magical Memories

The golden anniversary of the Dayton Holiday Festival, presented by AES Ohio, officially begins this Friday. Mrs. Virginia Kettering started the Dayton Holiday Festival in 1972 to ensure that families and children of all backgrounds could take part in a holiday celebration full of fun and magic. Her legacy has only continued to grow and the event is now celebrating five decades of cherished memories.

From 4 to 9 p.m. this Friday, November 25, families are invited to kick off the holiday season downtown for the 50th year with the Grande Illumination, Dayton Children’s Parade Spectacular in Lights, Mrs. Kettering’s holiday train display, the Rike’s holiday windows, Downtown Jingle Lights, and much, much more. Once the tree is lit, free, family-friendly fun continues through December with events planned at locations around downtown. A full schedule of events for the month-long Dayton Holiday Festival can be found at daytonholidayfestival.org.
