Dayton’s public classical radio station is ready to grow. Discover Classical (WDPR) has announced its plans to move a few blocks away to an expanded office inside the 130 Building, 130 W. Second Street. The new location will feature a recording and performing studio for live performances, a larger conference room, and additional staff offices.
According to the Dayton Business Journal, a timeline for the move is still in progress, but station leadership hopes to be in its new location by early next year. While the station is preparing to move from its longtime home in the Loft Theatre Building, staying in Downtown Dayton has always been the plan.
“This is where the arts are,” said Discover Classical president & CEO, Shaun Yu. “We are absolutely committed to downtown, not only because the art scene is located here, but because cities that thrive in this country grow from this inside out. You have to have a strong core in order to thrive as a city.”
