Downtown Dayton Partnership Downtown Housing Tour returns next week

The popular DDP event allows future and potential residents to tour available units and learn more about living downtown.

May 5, 2023 (DAYTON, Ohio) – The Downtown Dayton Partnership (DDP) is happy to announce the return of its popular Downtown Housing Tour as part of the AES Ohio Summer in the City program. The tour was last held in 2019 but has returned in light of a continuously growing demand for downtown living and a variety of new and available housing units. The free tour is planned to take place from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 13.

“Thousands of people already call downtown home, and it’s easy to see why,” said Sandra K. Gudorf, president of the Downtown Dayton Partnership. “There are dozens of independent retailers, drink and dining options, activities, entertainment, and more just a few steps outside of one’s front door. We’re excited to welcome these potential new residents to show them what makes a downtown address so desirable.”

The Downtown Housing Tour is an open-house style event. Guests are encouraged to start their tour at a DDP info table or at any of the participating stops on the tour. Participating locations can be found in Downtown Housing Tour brochures available online, at DDP info tables, and in select businesses before the event.

Several downtown residents have graciously volunteered their time to take part in a Resident Panel Discussion, sponsored by Glasshouse Realty Group. Guests are invited to ask residents questions about their experiences living downtown and learn more about the downtown community. Space is limited, and pre-registration for the panel is required. Visit the Downtown Housing Tour webpage to register. Walk-up registration will be accepted as space allows.

Guests are encouraged to park in one of the more than 13,000 parking spaces downtown and walk from location to location. The Greater Dayton RTA has generously provided free shuttles for guests of the Downtown Housing Tour to use to quickly navigate stops. Link Bike Share bicycles located at several nearby stations will also be available for guests to use during the tour.

More information about the Downtown Housing Tour and a digital copy of the event brochure are available now on the Downtown Housing Tour webpage.

The Downtown Housing Tour is a program of the Downtown Dayton Partnership and part of the AES Ohio Summer in the City program. Additional support for this event is provided by Dayton.com, CenterPoint Energy, Glasshouse Realty Group, the Greater Dayton RTA, and Key-Ads.
