The Yellow Cab Tavern is celebrating its 10th season of Yellow Cab Food Truck Rallies once a month through October. This long standing community event is not only bringing back all of the food trucks and the festival environment that it’s been known for but also reinventing itself by transforming each event into a specialty food fest to celebrate its 10th year. On July 14th they’re presenting the 2nd annual Dayton Mac N’ Cheese Fest on national Mac and Cheese Day.
“Mac N’ Cheese Fest was our first themed event that we tried during last year’s food truck rally season and it really took off,” said Event Organizer Brian Johnson. “We had an amazing crowd join us to try all types of Mac N’ Cheese- from traditional style to seafood Mac, Mac N’ Cheese calzones, and so much more. We can’t wait to see what these great trucks come up with this year.”
Each food truck rally in 2023 will feature a different theme. This month’s theme is “Mac N’ Cheese Fest” and features an amazing group of trucks offering Mac n’ Cheese and thematic dishes in addition to their standard menus. The line-up includes The Pizza Bandit, Kung Fu BBQ, Blind Dogs, I Heart Ice Cream, Home Cooked Vibes, Cruisin’ Cuisine, Slide Thru, Sweets and Meats BBQ, Freakin’ Rican, The Forking Pierogi, Macarons Galore, and Fifty5 Rivers Cold Brew.
Food trucks and mobile vending businesses often operate as a proof of concept for many small and micro business owners as they build and grow their audience and offerings in a less risky setup.
“Mac N’ Cheese is a favorite dish for a lot of people,” Johnson said, “and there are a lot of ways to play with the concept. From grilled Mac n’ Cheese Calzones to fried Mac N’ Cheese Balls to traditional Mac n’ Cheese offerings, this festival is going to have a ton of options for our guests to try!”
Yellow Cab Food Truck Rallies are held at The Yellow Cab Tavern, 700 E Fourth St. in Dayton. Mac N’ Cheese Fest 2023 will be held on Friday, July 14th from 5 to 9pm. All ages are welcome and the event is free to attend. Food trucks are subject to change.
