There’s always something fun going on downtown! Below you’ll find a list of events scheduled for today. Use the filters at the top to find events by date, keyword, and more. You can also view the calendar by month or as a list of 20 events at a time.

The Oregon District Business Association presents the 6th Annual Derby Day, in correlation with the Kentucky Derby, celebrating their 150th year!
This is the annual Running Of The Wiener Dogs races on East Fifth Street in The Oregon District
This family friendly event is in support of the Humane Society of Greater Dayton, with Tito’s Handmade Vodka as a supporting sponsor of this event. The event this year is being expanded even further to incorporate anticipated crowds, and includes some new events. Some events will overlap, giving something for everyone to enjoy during this Oregon District Block Party.
Schedule For Saturday, May 4, 2024:
Registration booths will be located outside of Toxic Brew Co., at the corner of East Fifth and Jackson Streets. There is no online registration for the event this year. Registration fee is $25 per animal, with proceeds benefiting the Greater Dayton Humane Society.

| 6:00PM | Grand Finale of The Hot Dog Eating Contest, presented by Blind Dogs Dayton |
Aside from these scheduled events, guests will have the opportunity to purchase exclusive drink features (for those age 21+ with valid I.D.) crafted by Tito’s Handmade Vodka from all of our establishments, shop from our independently owned businesses, and local eateries.
A portion of proceeds from drink sales, registration fees to participate in wiener dog races, on-site animal adoptions, and donations directly benefit the Humane Society of Greater Dayton… and all your dollars spent throughout The Oregon District always stay right here, in the local community!
This block party event is FREE to attend and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC… all well-behaved animals are encouraged to attend as well! Registration fee to enter a wiener dog into the races is $25 and will be collected in-person at the event.

Please Note: If you are interested in the Hot Dog Eating Contest, pre-registration and qualification is required through Blind Dogs Dayton (not to be confused with Blind Bobs), and those sign ups are actually happening TONIGHT (Thursday, April 11) at Toxic Brew Co. on East Fifth Street in The Oregon District from 6PM until 9PM.
