Sinclair’s Diversity Office welcomes, Guest Speaker: david matthews, Author, Poet/Musician.
A discovery of world-acclaimed poetess Nikki Giovanni in 1972. Since then, he has made a lasting impression in the world of poetry. A native of Dayton, Ohio, matthews has often been referred to as the next Paul Laurence Dunbar. His “Evening On Broadway Poetic Production” has toured over 300 colleges and universities in twenty-one states, which started in 1973.
In 2010 Barnes & Nobles quoted the value of $202 for an autographed copy of matthews’ first publication “the feel of FEELING” 1976 Vantage Press New York, NY. In October of 2022 he was recognized by The Ohioana Library Columbus, OH as one of ‘The Top Authors of Ohio’. In November of 2023 matthews was asked by VoyageOhio magazine Los Angles, California, to be a part of their Popular ‘Inspiring Stories Series’ for 2024.
Tonight, you will experience a sample of that Production performance. Afterwards david will be interviewed by his wife, Author, Poet/Filmmaker, Hsanni Scott-Matthews.
