Dayton Metro Library will host Kurt Russell for the Social Justice Speaker Series program: An Evening with the 2022 National Teacher of the Year, in the Main Library’s Eichelberger Forum, Tuesday, April 25, from 6-7 pm.
Russell will deliver a keynote detailing the current state of education. A Q&A will follow. Registration is not required for this event.
About the speaker: Russell teaches history at Oberlin High School, in Oberlin, Ohio. He has also served as a faculty advisor for the student-led Black Student Union and is the coach of the school’s varsity basketball team. As a 25-year veteran of classroom teaching and now as the National Teacher of the year, Russell plans to advocate for classrooms to better reflect their students beyond a curriculum that reflects their backgrounds and identities.

The Main Library is located at 215 East Third Street, Dayton. For more information about this SJSS guest and future speakers, visit DaytonMetroLibrary.org/Social Justice or call the Library’s Ask Me Line at 937.463.2665.
