As part of DML’s Social Justice Speaker Series, Beyond Bullets: A Call for Protection, Policy, and Pride, featuring Brandon Wolf, will be held in the Main Library’s Eichelberger Forum, Thursday, August 7, 6-7:30 pm, with a book signing after.
Wolf is a national LGBTQ civil rights advocate, a leader in the movement to end gun violence, and a survivor of the 2016 Pulse Nightclub shooting, and he will discuss how gun violence, policy advocacy, and LGBTQIA+ rights intersect.
In addition to his many media and political appearances, he was the first survivor of the Pulse tragedy to testify before Congress, and then again about LGBT-related hate violence. Wolf is the founder of The Dru Project and is the National Press Secretary for the Human Rights Campaign. His debut memoir, titled A Place for Us, became a bestseller in 2023.
This program is intended for adults. Registration is not required.
