From Akron to accolades, 26-year-old Kofi B. has quickly become one of the most dynamic young talents in entertainment today. A 3x Emmy®-nominated pianist, producer, actor, and media personality, Kofi’s innovative blend of music and storytelling has captivated millions across social media and beyond. His rise began with a Silver medal in the NAACP ACT-SO National Competition, joining an elite list of alumni including Lauryn Hill and Jennifer Hudson.
In 2021, Kofi launched BlaBoak Ventures (pronounced Blah-bowk), a media production company behind his Emmy®-nominated content. His collaborations span industry icons like the Ohio Players, Joe Little III of the Rude Boys, Montell Jordan, Marsha Ambrosius, and J Moss. A major career milestone came in 2022 when he won Amateur Night at The Apollo and made history as the first winner to become the show’s host, stepping into a role previously held by legends like Steve Harvey and Mo’Nique.
Kofi’s talents also led him to the big screen, portraying Whitney Houston’s pianist in I Wanna Dance With Somebody and contributing musically alongside Rickey Minor. In 2024, he was named the official Ambassador of Engagement for the 47th Kennedy Center Honors, becoming part of a historic celebration honoring the Apollo Theater.
With appearances on The Tamron Hall Show and stage moments alongside Charlie Wilson, Will Downing, and Musiq Soulchild, Kofi B. continues to inspire as “The Other Kid From Akron,” rewriting what it means to be a modern artist.
