Dayton Metro Library will hold a Parent/Child Communication Workshop on Thursday, April 17, from 6-7:30 pm in the Community Room of the Main Library. Planned Parenthood Southwest Ohio educators will work with parents and youth to explore methods for starting and navigating around topics like consent and relationships. Learning objectives for the workshop include: For parents: recall consent laws in Ohio, name ways to start a conversation about consent, and utilize protocol for answering tough questions. For youth: define a trusted adult, identify a trusted adult, explain consent, and use “I” statements as a method of communication. Families are invited to attend. Registration is not required. This program is part of a series of programming called DML CARES (Consent Advocates Rallying for Education and Support) and is in partnership with Planned Parenthood Southwest Ohio.
