The Best of the Season

The Music Department at historic First Baptist Church of Dayton will present “The Best of the Season” as part of the annual First Baptist Sings Series on Sunday, June 4, 2023, at 4 p.m. Choral favorites that have been performed during worship services throughout the year will be featured. Arrangements will include In Thee Is Gladness by Alfred Whitehead; Gloria by Vivaldi; Here I Am Lord by Mark Hayes; and a special rendition of Amazing Grace arranged by Rebecca Pellette for the Cincinnati Symphony and Classical Roots. The program will also feature the First Baptist Male Ensemble singing African American spirituals and other favorites. Dr. William Henry Caldwell, music director, will conduct the program and will be accompanied by organists Dr. Alan Kimbrough and Mr. Gregory Land. There will be a reception following the concert in the Fellowship Hall. The concert is free and open to the public and parking is free in the lot next to the church at 111 West Monument Avenue in Dayton.
