Dayton Metro Library is excited to welcome author Mandy Shunnarah (Midwest Shreds) to host The Thrill of the Game: Literary Sports Writing Workshop on Monday, November 4, from 5:30-7 pm, in the Main Library’s Community Room A. Patrons will be guided in crafting their own essay that captures the thrill of their favorite sport. Dive deep into memories using the five senses to bring events back to life and engage with writing prompts to help find the story behind the story. Shunnarah will share readings from other sportswriters and what skills they used to write about skateparks in the Midwest that are showcased in Midwest Shreds. This event is open to adults. Registration is required. A select number of copies of Midwest Shreds is available for check out at DML locations, or patrons may use their Libby app to read a digital version.
