June 7, 2021 (DAYTON, Ohio)… As restrictions are lifted across the state, more Ohioans receive vaccines, workers return back to their offices, and our community feels safe to venture out to eat, shop and attend events — the downtown Dayton community invites everyone to Rediscover Downtown Dayton.

In the coming weeks, partners from across the city’s business and arts and entertainment community will be using the Rediscover Downtown Dayton message to highlight experiences to be had downtown as we begin to safely return to the many things we’ve all been missing.

“Rediscover Downtown Dayton is about reconnecting to the places we know and love, but also discovering the new businesses and faces who have joined the downtown Dayton landscape during the past year,” said Sandra K. Gudorf, president of the Downtown Dayton Partnership. “As we enter into this new phase of re-opening, we hope the pent up energy to reconvene with coworkers, friends, and family leads to new experiences in our city.”

The Rediscover Downtown Dayton is a piece of a larger initiative of downtown businesses, partners and stakeholders working to rally the core of the city out of the wake of the covid shutdown. Ushering the community to reconvene, recharge and reconnect with the city, the Rediscover message stretches across all facets, from the work week to the weekend. Rediscover your favorite coffee shop and morning drink. Reconnect with the energy of attending a live performance. Recharge with downtown’s recreational amenities. Reconvene the crew at your favorite bar or restaurant. Whether it’s with friends, coworkers, or the family – there is an experience to rediscover for everyone.

“We’re seeing employees return back to work in our downtown offices, and groups of friends and families gather downtown on the weekends to safely enjoy each other’s company, and we know that this is just the beginning of a safe return to normal,” Gudorf said. “Rediscover Downtown Dayton is a focused effort to engage these groups who are coming back to the city – and we invite the entire community to share the experiences you’re having as you Rediscover Downtown Dayton.”
