The second location for Gulzar’s Indian Cuisine is now open in downtown Dayton. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 4 p.m. this Thursday, May 12. The family-owned restaurant’s first location in Richmond, Indiana, has already gained a following of excited diners from the Gem City. Gulzar’s newest location opened last Thursday at 217 N. Patterson Blvd. near Winans Chocolates + Coffees and Flyboys Deli. Husband and wife team, Jay and Deepika Singh, manage the Dayton restaurant while Jay’s brother, A.J., and his wife manage the Richmond location. The Singhs say customers can expect a variety of fresh, authentic Indian dishes. Diners can enjoy a buffet during lunch hours or order from the main menu any time during the day. The restaurant is open Monday to Thursday 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for lunch and 5 to 9 p.m. for dinner, Friday 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for lunch and 5 to 10 p.m. for dinner, Saturday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday noon to 9 p.m. Deepika says the downtown community has been very welcoming and tells Dayton.com “We’re so grateful to be in a place where it’s never felt out of place – it feels like home.”
