Sinclair College recently made several announcements regarding new programs for the community:
- The Goldman Sachs Foundation will partner with Sinclair College to launch the expansion of the 10,000 small businesses initiative in Dayton. The new statewide initiative is aimed at helping entrepreneurs and small businesses create job opportunities and growth by providing access to business education, capital and support services. Sinclair College offers an Associate’s Degree in Business Management and Entrepreneurship, a certificate in Entrepreneurship as well as short-term certificate programs for students enrolled in Sinclair’s Prison Education Program. The college is also currently working on co-locating Sinclair’s entrepreneur programs in the new Innovation Hub that is being developed by the University of Dayton and TEC-Dayton at the Dayton Arcade.
- The Sinclair College Foundation and General Motors Co. are partnering to launch the GM Dealer Technician Scholarship, a program that will offer fourteen Sinclair students enrolled in the GM Automotive Service Education Program (ASEP), with full-tuition scholarships. The scholarship program, which will welcome its first class this fall 2019, includes co-op learning experiences at Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac dealerships where students will work hand in-hand with experienced technicians to maintain and repair today’s high-tech vehicles. The end goal: full-time employment at one of more than 4,000 GM dealerships around the country.
