The project to turn the Barclay Building, at 137 N. Main St. downtown, received a $2.45M boost last month when the State of Ohio approved historic tax credits to renovate the building into a boutique hotel. Chicago-based development company First Hospitality, along with Columbus firm Lawyers Development, bought the property in 2018 and recently began work on the $25M renovation to turn the building into a 118-room “Tapestry Collection” boutique Hilton hotel. Developers told the Dayton Daily News that the financing process is being finalized and construction will work toward a 2022 opening timeline.
