Fast Facts: How to Help Those Affected by Tornadoes

Mike ColvinFast Facts

There are many ways to contribute to those affected by the Memorial Day tornadoes. The Downtown Dayton Partnership will have a barrel from The Foodbank out on Courthouse Square from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. through June 7 during The Square Is Where programming. Most-needed items include ready-to-eat canned meats (tuna, chicken, etc.), peanut butter, dry cereal, fruit packs, or protein bars and cereal bars. Monetary donations are also being collected on the Square via envelopes from The Dayton Foundation for its disaster relief fund. Additionally, the public is invited to patronize local businesses as part of the #ShopDaytonStrong campaign. Small businesses are always ready to lend a helping hand during times of need; remember to support local businesses whose hundreds of employees rely on guest patronage for their livelihoods.
