Two new businesses opened or announced plans to open soon in the District Provisions building at 521 Wayne Avenue. Cafe 1610, a vegan restaurant, had its opening weekend over Labor Day, and is now open various hours Wednesdays through Sundays each week. The plant-based menu specializes primarily in breakfast, brunch, and lunch options, and offers a “guest-chef” dinner service every Sunday.

A coffee company based out of Centerville, that has also been selling its product at downtown locations such as Omega Music in the Oregon District, will soon open its brick and mortar location within District Provisions. Hawthorne Hill Coffee Company will begin with a by-appointment pick-up location at the storefront for customers, with a goal of evolving the space into a roastery and coffee cafe, owners told the Dayton Daily News.
