Pop-Up Patios Expand Outdoor Service Areas Downtown

Mike ColvinDowntown Progress, Fast Facts

There’s nothing like enjoying a cool drink on a warm summer evening in downtown Dayton. The City of Dayton’s Pop-Up Patio pilot program has allowed Dayton businesses to apply for a permit to expand outdoor dining and customer service areas in order to increase customer capacity while meeting social distancing health and safety standards. Several downtown businesses have constructed and are using their new, extended patio space, including Wheat Penny Oven and Bar on Wayne Avenue, Mudlick Tap House on Second Street, and Canal Street Arcade and Deli on First Street. Want to enjoy a patio yourself? Check out our OPEN* downtown Dayton pages, where we’re continually updating information about downtown businesses offering patio dining, their hours of operation and continued delivery, takeout, online retail options and things to do.
