Downtown Dayton is soon to be home to several new businesses. First, Pins Mechanical opened the doors of its newest location, 416 E. First St., on June 18. The popular bar and destination offers a variety of fun activities for guests, like duckpin bowling, classic pinball machines, patio pong, and giant Jenga. The new Dayton location also includes an indoor and outdoor bar with specialty cocktails, a two-story slide, and a patio with outdoor fireplaces and views of Day Air Ballpark.
The Dayton Arcade has announced another tenant coming soon to its recently redeveloped North Arcade. Nook & Needle is a dedicated cross-stitch store that features kits, tools, patterns, and specially curated literature. The boutique is expected to open later this summer. Nook & Needle will join fellow North Arcade tenants, Smales Pretzel Bakery and Luke’s Custom Cakes which were each announced earlier this year.
Owners of downtown favorite Wheat Penny have announced their new venture. “Little Bear” is coming to the Oregon District’s Dietz Block Building, 521 Wayne Avenue, this fall according to the Dayton Business Journal. The brunch restaurant will feature globally inspired sandwiches, cocktails, and other tasty offerings. Ahead of the grand opening later this year, plans for pop-ups and cooking classes are in the works at the restaurant’s future home.
Just around the corner, a popular local record shop is also finding a new home on Fifth Street in the Oregon District. Blind Rage Records has announced its new home will be located at 508 E. Fifth Street. The record shop is currently located on Watervliet Avenue and offers a wide selection of vinyl, specializing in punk and hardcore music. An opening date for its new location hasn’t been announced.
