The popular event showcasing downtown housing options and amenities returns this Saturday, May 11.
May 2, 2024 (DAYTON, Ohio) – Downtown Dayton has the highest occupancy rate in the region, and you’re invited to see why! The Downtown Dayton Partnership (DDP) is excited to announce the return of its popular Downtown Housing Tour as part of Summer in the City, presented by AES Ohio. The free event will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 11.
“More and more people are choosing to live in downtown Dayton. Downtown’s culture and strong sense of community combined with a unique housing inventory have created record demand,” said Katie Meyer, President of the Downtown Dayton Partnership. “The Downtown Housing Tour makes it easy for those future residents to see a snapshot of the growing housing options, independent retailers, delicious food and drink options, and wide variety of amenities that downtown has to offer all in one visit.”
Guests are encouraged to start the open-house-style Downtown Housing Tour at an event information booth, in Courthouse Square, or at any of the participating stops on the tour. Brochures with a list of this year’s featured locations, maps, tours, and more information will be available at information booths at the event, on the Downtown Dayton Partnership website, and at select businesses leading up to May 11. Guests are encouraged to park in one of the more than 13,000 parking spaces downtown and walk from location to location. The Greater Dayton RTA has generously provided free shuttles for guests of the Downtown Housing Tour to quickly navigate stops. Link Bike Share bicycles located at several nearby stations will also be available for guests to rent. This year’s Downtown Housing Tour isn’t just about where to live downtown, but how to make the most of downtown living! Be sure to stop by Courthouse Square to meet with downtown’s “Resident Experts” and ask all of those burning questions about what it’s really like to live downtown. Also in Courthouse Square, get to know some of the unique and essential services available in downtown Dayton at the Urban Amenities Fair. Grocery stores, healthcare providers, arts organizations, museums, recreation, and more will be set up to tell you all about how they help make downtown a one-stop shop for residents. Limited spaces are still available for themed walking tours! These free, guided tours give guests a closer look at the shopping, architecture, art, brews, and even spooky stories of downtown. While you’re in Courthouse Square, celebrate the grand opening of CURIO at Courthouse Square! This new feature to downtown will be your home for midweek lunchtime entertainment this summer and a variety of events for downtown residents and guests – you never know what you may find at CURIO! Stop by to see this new amenity funded by a Project for Public Spaces Community Placemaking Grant. It’s the first of many exciting additions toward revitalizing Courthouse Square to be a gathering place for our community.
