New Downtown Street Parking Option Now Active

Mike Colvin Fast Facts

Starting today, drivers have a new, convenient option to pay for street parking downtown. The Passport Parking app officially launched downtown this morning. The app can now be used at nearly 1,300 metered street parking spaces throughout downtown, in addition to the existing options to pay by coins or credit cards. The Passport Parking app makes it convenient to pay for parking with your smartphone, as well as to remotely monitor your parking sessions, get alerts, and extend parking time (up to the maximum time limit at that space), all with just a few taps. No more digging for loose change – simply park where you see Passport Parking app signs and decals, pay for your parking session from your phone, and be on your way. Download the Passport Parking app from the Apple App Store or Google Play store. You can also pay at passportparking.com. The app also allows businesses to easily validate customer parking. Dayton will join more than 800 other cities and groups currently using the system. Learn more about how to use the Passport Parking app and its benefits at daytonohio.gov/parking.
