Major revitalization is planned for the corner of Fourth and Jefferson Streets downtown. Developers with The Model Group hope to transform the vacant Centre City building into retail space and more than 200 housing units. Last month, Dayton-Montgomery County Port Authority trustees voted to assist in a $750,000 loan for redevelopment of the iconic piece of Dayton’s skyline. According to the current construction timeline, work on the Centre City building is expected to be completed in 2027.

The Greater Dayton RTA has also pledged funds and help to revitalize and reopen the neighboring Air City Garage. According to the Dayton Daily News, the RTA is contributing $10 million in capital funds that were set aside for a parking garage project. Once renovated, the garage is expected to include 400 parking spaces that will be used for some RTA vehicles as well as new residents of the Centre City building.
