A growing company based in Minster, Ohio, has announced it will open an office in downtown Dayton in the spring of 2022. Nidec Press & Automation plans to expand into a 12,500-square-foot space at 15 McDonough St., on the top floor of Gosiger Industries’ offices in Oregon East downtown. Nidec’s new offices will house a service hub for its global facilities, as well as a part of the company’s engineering, software controls, human resources, procurement, and purchasing staff, according to the Dayton Business Journal. Nidec CEO David Winch cited a desire to attract younger professionals and downtown’s “exciting redevelopment” among the reasons for opening a downtown Dayton office. The new office will open with 25 employees, but is expected to grow to 75 or more. Nidec exports products to 90 countries globally, and is growing despite supply chain and cost issues brought on by the pandemic.
