Tell us a bit about yourself and your business. What made you decide to open your own small business and how long have you been in operation?
My name is Jane Scott. I opened my salon, Lisse Beauty Bar, about three and a half years ago. My vision was a full service salon and boutique. Our services include waxing, facials, dermerplaning, nail services, eye lash extensions, hair (color, braids, extensions, natural hair), and more. We wanted a one stop shop. We have private suites and semi private suites for our stylists.
What do you enjoy about working in downtown Dayton?
When I decided to open my salon business, I knew I wanted to be downtown. There is history and life for downtown, and I have memories from when I as a little girl visiting with my grandmother and taking bus rides. I knew downtown was growing and I wanted to be a part of it. I love downtown, the history, seeing people living downtown, the various businesses, and of course the growth that is coming along.
Tell us something about your business that may surprise people to learn.
It always surprises clients when they come in to see how big the shop is. It starts at the front and goes all the way back!
How is your business coping with the pandemic and how can people support you now?
With COVID it’s been a ride, but we have have survived and I’m looking forward to what’s ahead. We are surviving, it’s been tough but things are slowly picking up. We want people make appointments for one of our services. It is very comfortable environment.
