Teams are invited to explore downtown businesses and landmarks for the chance to win cash prizes.
June 11, 2024 (Dayton, OHIO) – Adventurers of all ages are invited to explore the highlights of downtown Dayton. Now is your chance to get your friends, coworkers, and family together for the Downtown Adventure on Saturday, June 29, the second signature event of the 2024 AES Ohio Summer in the City Series. Registration for the scavenger-hunt style event is open now on the Downtown Dayton Partnership website.
“The Downtown Adventure is a really fun and exciting way to be active and get to know some of the small businesses and the must-see sites that make downtown Dayton so special,” said Katie Meyer, president of the Downtown Dayton Partnership. “We’re really encouraging teams to take their time making memories together, interacting with the community, and finding new favorite places to visit and come back to again in the future.”
On Saturday, June 29, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., clues and challenges will be spread throughout several notable downtown businesses and landmarks. Teams participating in the Downtown Adventure will receive a sheet containing dozens of clues and a map to help them navigate their way through the challenge. Adventurers will solve riddles, find hidden answers, and complete challenges in this at-your-own-pace competition.
The three teams with the most correct clues and completed challenges by 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, will win cash prizes: $300 for first place, $200 for second place, and $150 for third place. The team with the best costumes (as decided in a vote by Downtown Dayton Partnership staff) will be rewarded with a $100 Downtown Dollars e-gift card. Winning costumes will be decided based on creativity, fun, and commitment to the theme of each team’s choice. All Downtown Adventure participants will be entered into a raffle to win Downtown Dollars or prizes donated by downtown businesses. Among this year’s raffle prizes are tickets to enjoy an upcoming Dayton Dragons game in a suite donated by altafiber. Winners do not need to be present to win.
There is a $10 registration fee per team. After registering, each team will be reimbursed with a $10 Downtown Dollars e-gift card. The e-gift card will be received before the Downtown Adventure and can be redeemed on the day or the event or at each team’s choosing. Downtown Dollars can be redeemed at more than 70 downtown businesses. Only one registration is required per team, and each team may include as many members as desired. All participants will be entered into the raffle and will receive a goodie bag upon team check-in.
