The Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority is waiving weekend fares for riders through the rest of 2022. Riders can use fixed-route and paratransit services at no charge Saturdays and Sundays through January 1, 2023. The free weekend ride promotion was originally launched in the spring with plans to end in early September. However, RTA announced last week that the promotion will continue through the end of the year. The extension of the promotion comes just weeks after the RTA streamlined its service. “With the RTA now offering the same level of service seven days a week, we felt free rides on the weekends would be a great way to get folks familiar with using RTA and providing them with a reliable transportation option for all their weekend needs,” RTA CEO, Bob Ruzinski, said in a release.
